The Theory of Botho
What is "Botho"?
Botho cannot be seen with our naked eye, Botho is the genesis of great achievements, is a spirit, a spirit is a person's mind, including their attitudes, thoughts and feelings, it works through people who are generous and willing to use it, Botho does not discriminate or fail, is the spirit within that enable us to achieve great things through our works, Botho is not a woman or man, it is the quality of equality in us, being human without Botho leads to foolishness and selfishness , Botho tells us that every parent is our parent, it builds the nation, practically, Botho comprises of all good qualities, compassion, love, charity, honour, purity, justice, transparency, and the list goes on, "Botho Ke Thari Ya Sechaba'',meaning "Botho nurtures the Nation".

Forethought:
The Spirit of Botho is a phenomenon; any phenomenon depends on a definite diversity of conditions to bring it into existence. While it is only one of the circumstances conducive to a certain effect, the cause is the most active and effective element in this process, it is an interaction that converts necessary and sufficient conditions into a result. We sometimes treat the absence of something as a cause. For example, some bad relations are attributed to lack of Botho in a relationship. However, absence should not be regarded as a cause but merely as a condition for ill relations. For a cause to actually take effect there must be certain condition, that is to say, phenomena essential for the occurrence of the given event but not in itself causing it. Conditions cannot in themselves give rise to the effect, but the cause is also powerless without them. No cause can give rise to ill relationships if the relationship is not susceptible to it. We know that when a person's behavior is lacking Botho, however, that person may be punished or he may not. The way a cause takes effect and the nature of the consequence depend on the character of the conditions. Sometimes there is only one direct and immediate cause of death or injury-a bullet. But more often the causes and conditions are intricately combined, some of them being only secondary circumstances.
The ideology of "the spirit of Botho" is adopted by various organizations as the value that shall be executed and embraced to render their services effectively and ensure good customer or client relations .In most cases, the value of Botho operates when two or more people are in association or in contact, for instance, customer relations or staff relations, for good and satisfying relations between the two outlined examples, Botho is a necessity. On the contrary, it can be argued that Botho is essential for development and a necessity for peace, reason being that, there cannot be adequate development in the absence of Botho or peace in the absence of Botho.
Botswana, as known very well, is a peaceful developing country, which reflects the high level of "the spirit of Botho" amongst the authority and the society, particularly the leaders of this country irrespective of the resources of this country. Resources without good management cannot bring forth productivity; therefore, good management cannot ignore Botho. Put simply, the development study is concerned with how developing countries can improve their living standards and eliminate absolute poverty.
In the period since the decolonization process by which European colonial powers withdrew from their colonies in Africa, the peoples and governments of most developed or industrialized countries have acknowledged that they have some responsibility assist the poor. At another level, this is a simple matter of self interest of which is Botho, "inspired by the spirit of Botho", in line with the millennium development goals of "Compassionate, Just and Caring nation". At another level, a basic humanitarian sensibility which is cause caused of inspired by Botho leaves many people feeling(spirit constitutes feelings)that to allow poorer people to continue to stay poor is unjust. The absence of Botho adds up to a deep, in many cases well-grounded sense of injustice. In most discussions about development, the term itself is bandied about as though its meaning is understood and shared. This, of course, is not so.
Development was primarily and often exclusively identified with economic growth, usually measured in terms of average income per head of population of a given country. Distinction in the priority given, for example to equity, democratization, to gender or to environment issues and shall raise implications for action.
